Falls Prevention Month and Day Resources
The following are pre-developed resource samples to help make your Falls Prevention Awareness event a success. Integrate your community and event information into the documents to advertise your event.
- The Burden of Falls In Wisconsin Report – The burden report is a statistical summary of the effects falls have on the public and state of Wisconsin. The data contained in this document can be used to write articles or in presentations to illustrate the impact falls have on our state.
- Fall Prevention Among Older Adults: An Action Plan for Wisconsin – Details how partners across Wisconsin will work together to prevent falls.
- Sample newspaper articles – Use the templates below to write an article for your local newspaper. These articles can increase the awareness of falls in your community, educate the public on how to prevent falls and advertise your Fall Prevention Awareness Month events.
- Sample Church Bulletin – Submit an informational paragraph to be printed in a church bulletin and other local print sources. For instance, see if the local senior center or assisted living facility sends out a monthly newsletter. Be sure to include information about any upcoming events.
