2010 Wisconsin Aging Network ConferenceMake plans now to attend the 2010 Wisconsin Aging Network Conference to be held September 30 - October 1, 2010, at the Wilderness Resort/Glacier Canyon Lodge in Wisconsin Dells. Sponsored by the Greater Wisconsin Agency on Aging Resources (GWAAR), the conference will provide training and resources for the professional staff and board members of Aging Units, Aging and Disability Resource Centers, Human Service agencies, advocacy organizations, managed care organizations, the State Office on Aging, the Office for Resource Center Development, and others who serve older people. Keynote Speaker Every community grows stronger as more and more of its members contribute their gifts, capacities, and skills. Aging is the process by which we grow in giftedness. John McKnight will describe how gifts get given in ways that strengthen our communities—and ourselves. A Professor of Education and Social Policy and co-director of the Asset-Based Community Development Institute at Northwestern University, McKnight researches social service delivery systems, health policy, community organizations, neighborhood policy, and institutional racism.
